The Shelter

Today I braved out into the cold in order to build a shelter. I started out by picking a spot to build my shelter. I ended up deciding on building right next to a big rock so I could use the rock as the back of my shelter. I then stacked branches up onto the rock to use as walls.

Then once I had about ten branches stacked onto the rock I snapped branches off of a spruce tree that was in the woods on the ground. With many branches of spruce I placed them all throughout the walls of my shelter to use as isolation from the cold.
With the walls and branches up as insolation my shelter was almost complete. However, once I was inside I realized I needed something to keep me warm while I was inside so I took more of the spruce branches and laid a few down on the inside to use as a blanket. Lastly while inside my shelter, I closed the entrance by placing a few more spruce branches in the way of the door. And with that final adjustment my shelter was complete.

It took me about an hour and a half to complete and my biggest problem was figuring out the right place to go about building the shelter. I ended up switching the location of my shelter three times before finally settling on the spot next to the rock. Here are a few more pictures as well as a video from the inside of the shelter.
